Cheese, wine and a date in the diary: four Warwickshire evenings

We've all said “we must catch up” approximately a hundred times. A wine tasting is a rather good way of actually making it happen.

We've found five Warwickshire evenings worth putting in the diary, from English wines paired with cheese to a December tasting that finishes with a coffee-inspired cocktail.

Someone else chooses the wine, the cheese is taken care of, and you've finally got a date in the diary. Quite a good arrangement, really.

Grace & Vine, Leamington Spa

Thursday 22 October · £50 per person

Grace & Vine is listing an Autumnal wine and cheese tasting, hosted by Darren. It’s at 6 Guy Street, with booking through OpenTable Experiences. A Thursday tasting is a rather good alternative to saying you’ll catch up soon and leaving it there.

The Shiny Vine, Wolvey

Thursday 29 October · 7–9pm · £50 per person

This tasting focuses on English still wines: six 50ml pours, each paired with cheese. It’s for over-18s; groups of more than four should contact the venue. If you’re planning to drink, the organisers recommend booking a taxi ahead of time.

Wildes, Leamington Spa

Thursday 22 October · 7–10pm · £45 per person

Wine Club: Anything but Chardonnay

For everyone who insists they don't like Chardonnay, Wildes has an evening with your name on it.

Four different Chardonnays from England, France and South Africa, accompanied by food pairings, all with the rather entertaining aim of changing a few opinions.

We like a wine evening with a point to prove.

Booking: Contact Wildes directly to confirm details and availability.

Four different evenings, and no need to settle for “we should do something soon”. Check the event listings for current details and availability before making plans.
